Our team has approximately 30 combined years of advising companies and stakeholders in periods of transition. We all trained at large, nationally recognized firms before starting Exigent Partners with the simple goal of working with people we like, on deals that challenge us, to provide the optimal outcome for our clients.
The Exigent team provides a thoughtful approach to achieving results in difficult circumstances. We are restructuring generalists, having worked across many industries, including energy, media, transportation, distribution, manufacturing, healthcare, and municipal situations, among others. Our firm size and focus allows us to be nimble and react quickly, without conflicts.
Kyle Herman
Principal
Mr. Herman has spent almost fifteen years advising distressed companies and their stakeholders. Deal experience includes the City of Detroit (MI), Ion Media Networks, Allied Holdings, El Paso Children’s Hospital, Standard Pacific Corp., The Weinstein Company, Questex Media Group, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and Keystone Automotive Operations, among others.
Prior to forming Exigent Partners, Mr. Herman was a senior restructuring professional at Miller Buckfire and then Berkeley Research Group, in New York and Houston, respectively. Before that, he worked in the Entertainment Industries Group at J.P. Morgan in Los Angeles. Mr. Herman graduated with honors with a B.B.A. in Finance and a B.A. from the Plan II Honors Program at the University of Texas at Austin. He also holds a M.B.A. in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Sanjay Marken
Principal
Mr. Marken has spent about fifteen years advising distressed companies. His experience includes advising Molycorp, the City of Detroit (MI), EnerVest Energy Institutional Fund XIII, Isola Group, Targus Group International, Snap Kitchen Investments, Questex Media Group, Border Media Partners, Meridian Lightweight Technologies and Archimica. Additionally, he has advised creditors and other constituents of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, AMF Bowling Worldwide, the Harris County-Houston Sports Authority (TX), LyondellBasell Industries and Circuit City.
Prior to forming Exigent Partners, Mr. Marken was a Vice President at Miller Buckfire. He graduated with a B.S. in Finance and Information Systems (magna cum laude) from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
